Flexible on budget and location, I would like to be able to walk places, though we don’t get that in States lol. But I don’t know enough to even have a preference on specific neighborhoods just I’d like to be able to walk most places !

I’m a 29-year-old American from Charleston, South Carolina, moving to Glasgow in 2027 to start the History MSc at the University of Glasgow. I currently work part-time as an archivist while studying Public History through Arizona State, and I’m making the move completely sight unseen… I’ve never been to the UK and won’t know anyone when I arrive. I’m hoping to find a flat (as y’all would say lol) where people are friendly and will want to occasionally do things together, rather than simply existing in separate bedrooms, but I’m equally big on respecting everyone’s space and having time to yourself, I have my own friends here in South Carolina and if the shoe were on the other foot, I wouldn’t necessarily want to feel like I have to include somebody I just met in every aspect of my social life. However, if you are looking for a roommate simply share common spaces with nothing else, I probably not the right person. But if you have an active social life and want a roommate who you can be a part of that social life, while also respecting the fact that we each have our own lives, then we might be a good match! I’m also arriving with very little stuff, so I promise I’m not coming across the Atlantic with enough furniture to completely overthrow the existing décor. Outside of history, I’m a huge film nerd, a very serious sports fan (American sports, so if you’re a fan of any teams in the UK, you don’t have to worry about me being a fan of your teams rival), and even if I don’t prefer the same sports, I completely get what it means to be a fan of a team and on that note… I really am extremely loyal to my Carolina sports teams, South Carolina Gamecocks, the Panthers, Hurricanes, and Hornets… and I will figure out how to watch them from Scotland, which given the time difference it could mean some slightly ridiculous hours.
