My name is Lana. I am looking for a way to rent a room for my daughter under “Family for Ukraine scheme”.

I am here under the homes for Ukraine scheme and currently any sponsor receives a thank you payment of £500 per month tax free for being a sponsor. And I can guarantee to pay bills for electricity e t.c. I came to the Uk with my daughter when the war started. I am in a terrible situation where I need to return to Ukraine later this year because of family reasons. Our current sponsor lives in countryside and there aren’t any buses to Chippenham, where my daughter studies. Veronika does not want to return to the danger of Ukraine as she is settled and calm here. She is a very quiet 16 years old girl who is very independent .  She prepares her meals for herself and organises her studies and is very mature. She studies at Chippenham state school and has excellent reports .

I have arranged with a good friend , that she will be a guardian for Veronika . Unfortunately she has a family and no room to offer. She will look after any day to day issues that may occur although I can’t imagine any. I will be returning regularly to see my daughter. I am really desperate to find someone who would be willing to offer a room so that she can remain here in safety. I spoke with Council and if you could help, there a procedure how to become a sponsor. You only need to go through DBS checking and have a spare room and make agreement.
