Hey there,

My name is Mark, 34, and hoping to move back to Havering in the coming months after almost 8 years of living in Berlin. Madness you may say, as Berlin is an absolutely wonderful city, but for a mix of personal and professional reasons it’s where I need to be - specifically Romford.

Professionally, I’ve made a living as a marketing professional and also strayed into data engineering and RPA in the last few years as I’ve been afforded opportunities by the marketing agency I work for. I’m in the interview process for new jobs right now, hence not looking to move into new accommodation until April or May 2024. The dates are somewhat flexible as I can also live with my mum for a month or two in Upminster if needs must.

What am I like to live with? I guess you’d have to ask my exes, but I’m a pretty ordered and clean person. I can definitely command the kitchen in both cleaning and cooking duties if required, but my dream would be to find a flatmate that loves cleaning bathrooms - I did meet a unicorn like this once. I’m not a party animal, but I do host small gatherings of friends for board games and movie nights in my current house as I do like to socialise. I’m vegetarian and don’t drink very often, probably once a month at my current rate.

In my spare time I like to do a good walk to a lake or a forest, I’m going to have to try a lot more to do that in Havering but there’s Rainham Marshes, Havering Country Park, Fairlop Waters and the forest near Noak Hill. In the urban outdoors I’ll maybe go to a theatre show, stand up, a gig or even a wrestling show once in a while.

Indoors, I’m accustomed to streaming some TV shows or plays from the National Theatre, trying my hardest not to get frustrated at my sewing machine, reading or take a couple of online courses now and then to improve my skills.

However my primary passion is politics, probably will spend most weekends and evenings campaigning. If you can hold a conversation on current affairs then that’s probably a good thing. More centre-left/left i. e. I lived in Berlin!
