About the roomies
We’re a friendly, easy‑going married couple in our 40s who both work 9–5 at the University. We’re usually out at work during the day, although one of us typically works from home once-twice a week.
We share our home with our 5‑year‑old Dalmatian, who is an extremely friendly chap. He’s at home during the day and gets plenty of exercise in the evenings, as we spend most weekdays walking or running with the dog, going to the gym, or working.
We’re very approachable and enjoy cooking and having a good chat in the kitchen. That said, during the week we tend to value quieter evenings, early nights and some TV time in our room. We appreciate clean and reasonably tidy communal spaces. We’re non‑smokers and enjoy a beer or two.
We would welcome a dog owner with a fully trained, friendly small‑to‑medium dog, provided there are no disruptive behaviours and the dog is comfortable sharing a home with another dog. The upstairs of the house is kept shoe‑free and dog‑free.
Every other weekend we host family, including a teenage daughter, and an adult son who stays from time to time. A few times a year, siblings visit—occasionally with young children.
