About the room

What’s great about the room Bright, comfortable double bedroom located on the top floor of the house, with a lovely view of the park across the road from the window. Being upstairs gives you plenty of privacy away from the main living areas. The room is in a quiet part of the house and would suit someone who values their own space while still enjoying a relaxed, friendly home environment. What’s great about the property The house is a spacious 4-bedroom property with a slightly unusual layout that works really well for sharing. The fourth bedroom has been converted into a separate living room, which the lodger will also have access to. This means you won’t feel like you’re confined to just your bedroom – it’s a nice bonus space to relax, watch TV or unwind. The bathroom is shared, but it’s large and well maintained. The home itself is clean, relaxed and friendly. I work from home running my own fitness coaching business, with a separate gym/studio attached to the property. Clients access the studio through a separate entrance, so they don’t come through the living areas. There is also a very chilled 8-year-old black Labrador who lives here, so anyone moving in would need to be comfortable around dogs. That said, unless someone comes to the door you’ll hardly know he’s there. What’s great about the area The house is in a quiet residential area, close to local shops, parks and transport links. Parkgate Shopping Centre is only a 6-minute drive away, Rotherham around 10 minutes, and Meadowhall approximately 10–15 minutes. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys a peaceful home environment but still wants easy access to nearby amenities. There are also lovely walking routes nearby, perfect if you enjoy getting outside for some fresh air. Who the room would suit This would suit a professional who is tidy, respectful and looking for a relaxed place to live rather than just somewhere to sleep. Because I work from home and occasionally film content in the kitchen, it’s important that whoever moves in is comfortable with a home that has a bit of a working environment during the day. On the plus side, with filming and testing recipes there’s often good food on the go in the kitchen!

Note: I’ve only recently decided to rent the room out, so there are currently a few items stored in there. These will be moved and the room will be fully ready before the new tenant moves in.

About the roomies

I’m 50 years old and run my own fitness coaching business, which I operate from home and online. I’m quite active and enjoy keeping fit, going to the gym and using my own studio. I also love walking the dog and generally keeping a calm, tidy home environment. My mum is currently staying with me but will be moving back to her bungalow in mid-April, so after that it will just be myself and my very chilled 8-year-old black Labrador in the house. The house is generally quiet and relaxed. I work from home during the day and tend to be up early, usually working around 10 hours most days. I occasionally film content in the kitchen for my business and social media, but outside of that it’s a pretty normal, easygoing household. I’m looking for someone who is respectful, tidy and easy to live with, and who will treat the house like a home rather than just somewhere to sleep.
