Available from 1st December 2023 or happy to wait until 1st January 2024 if you would like the room redecorated before your arrival. This is a single room in our home in Chalgrove, South Oxfordshire. Easy access to central Oxford, Wallingford, Watlington, Henley on Thames etc. Ten mins drive from M40 motorway for commuting to London, Birmingham etc. Chalgrove is a quiet village with three pubs but if you are looking for nightlife and a lively household this may not be the property for you.

The room is fully furnished and will be deep cleaned and provided with brand new bedding. We are happy for the occupant to move the furniture around or use their own bedding etc. if they prefer in order to make this a “home from home”. There is no en suite bathroom so the new lodger would have shared use of our downstairs bathroom, also the kitchen and garden. The room is fairly small, about 9 x 9 feet, but is very light and airy, as is the whole house.

We would prefer a tenant who needs the room Monday to Friday only, for which we charge £450 per month. We would however consider a quiet tenant 7 days a week for £500 per month.

We are a married couple aged 60 and 64, very laid back and young at heart. Our children left home many years ago and we have been renting both our spare bedrooms for the last ten years so we are very experienced and relaxed hosts. We have two female Boxer dogs who are very friendly and placid and a cat who we hardly ever see! Over the years we have had three long term lodgers of two years or more and many others before that for the shorter term of six months but any length of time would be considered.

We have no house rules as such, as mentioned above we are very laid back, friendly and flexible to a degree, so please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
