We’re in the market for a new flat mate in April as our current flat mate has bought his own place after living with us since 2019! Here’s what you need to know:

The Flat This is a clean and modern first floor tenement flat, with a large hall, living room, kitchen, shared bathroom, two good sized bedrooms and a smaller box room (used as a computer room). Your room comes furnished, though can also be made available unfurnished if required.

Location The flat is adjacent to Alexandra Parade train station, ideal for rolling out of bed in the morning. Plenty of bus connections are also available via Alexandra Parade and Duke Street, and you can walk to town in around 30 minutes. There are plenty of shops, pubs, takeaways and cafes nearby, we’re next to a park and in the summer our back court gets the sun most of the day. All in all, it’s a decent place to be!

Plenty of bus connections are also available via Alexandra Parade and Duke Street, and you can walk to town in around 30 minutes. There are plenty of shops, pubs, takeaways and cafes nearby, we’re next to a park and in the summer our back court gets the sun most of the day. All in all, it’s a decent place to be!

Rent & Bills Rent: £500 pcm Bills: Utilities, internet, council tax: 150pcm

There would also be an initial deposit of 1 month’s rent.

About Us We’re both young professionals who work from home. We’re a gay couple. We socialize most weekends and enjoy having friends over and going out on the weekends. We love live comedy and theatre and regularly catch shows whenever we can, we enjoy travelling and try to keep active in various ways including hiking and swimming. We also have a friendly 9-year-old springer spaniel – you’re welcome to spend as much or as little time with him as you like.

You Ideally, we’re looking to live with another professional. Also, while it’s not a requirement, we would prefer to live with another gay person. No couples, sorry – sharing a bathroom between 3 can be taxing enough. Also, no pets – Ted loves people, but he’s nervous around other dogs. As we both work from home, we’re ideally looking for someone who doesn’t most of the time (just so we’re not always tripping over each other). We naturally also want someone who is neat and tidy and respectful of our shared spaces and who’ll contribute to household chores. A bonus would be finding someone we get along with socially – our current flat mate routinely joins for social plans and our new occupant would be similarly welcome.
