Bright double room with private ensuite and balcony access, in a quiet 2-bed flatshare in Hackney Wick, available 18 October.

The room is in a shared flat on the 5th floor of a secure residential block, with 2 bedrooms, a shared living room/kitchen, deck access and a balcony. The flat is furnished, including television, dishwasher, and a washing machine. And there is room for storing a bike in the car park or on the access deck outside the flat. The bedroom itself is partially furnished – to be agreed what stays and goes.

Rent: £1,150 pcm + £195 bills per person. Bills internet, electricity, water and CTax. Deposit: £1,326.92. You’ll be a joint tenant, replacing my current flatmate on the contract.

The flat is located in Fish Island, in a quiet pocket of Hackney Wick. It’s a 10-min walk to Hackney Wick overground station, or a 20-min walk to Stratford station. We’re right by the canal and Hackney Marshes, and the Copperbox gym and Olympic pool are a short walk from here. Sainsbury’s and Tesco are near the station.

About the roomies

You will be sharing with me, a 44-year-old Belgian/German gay man, working in urban planning and regeneration for a local council. I geek out on cinema, politics and outdoorsy things… This is a non-smoking household.

The ideal flatmate is a working professional, similar in age, responsible and clean, who likes to socialise but also respects boundaries. It’s definitely not a party flat. Green fingers are a plus, to help keep the plants alive 😉.
